Georgia and Riley’s wedding, held at his family’s childhood home in Sebastopol, CA, was a heartfelt celebration of love, family, and the beauty of Northern California.
A Venue Close to Home, a backyard wedding
Riley’s family home in Sebastopol provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate and meaningful day. Surrounded by rolling hills, towering trees, and an abundance of flowers, the property felt like a secluded oasis where friends and family could gather to celebrate.
The couple’s vision was laid-back yet elegant—a true reflection of their personalities. In addition, the property’s natural beauty shined through the thoughtful decor. Twinkling lights strung between the trees, simply decorated tables with wildflower arrangements, and personalized details created a dreamy atmosphere. Special touches included custom-labeled hot sauce, honoring a past memory with friends, and wine gifted by a close friend. These details truly added even more meaning to the celebration.
A Personal Touch to Every Detail
Setting up an event at a family home can be tricky. However, with flexibility and careful planning, it’s absolutely worth it. The ceremony took place under a grand oak tree Riley had climbed as a child. Guests enjoyed a stunning view of the natural surroundings. The couple exchanged handwritten vows in front of loved ones, creating a beautiful and emotional moment. The sounds of birds and rustling leaves added to the intimate setting.
After the ceremony, guests transitioned to cocktail hour on the back patio, where they enjoyed appetizers and signature drinks. At the same time, the ceremony space was transformed for dinner, and twinkling lights combined with elegant decor set the scene just in time for an unforgettable evening meal.
Food, Drink, and Fun
The reception celebrated California’s local flavors served family-style. In addition, guests were treated to a feast that included paella and locally crafted cheese and charcuterie from Gerard’s Paella Catering. Adding to the charm was a coffee cart, my personal favorite! We selected a local vendor, Subconscious Coffee, to serve delicious lattes and affogatos that were a hit with everyone.
